Branding

Your icon, mark, accent colour and screenshots — the specs, how Chataway uses each one, and how the mark is tinted to fit every theme.

Your app carries its own brand everywhere it appears: the store, the install screen, the dock, and every card it raises. Chataway's brand stays on the chrome around your app, and every card shows your icon and name — users always know who is asking.

All paths are relative to your bundle root, and the files must be in the bundle.

#Icon

Your full-colour app icon: store listing, install and permission screens, card headers, the app's header.

FormatPNG or SVG
Size512×512 (square; at least 256 px)
File size≤ 1 MB
RequiredYes, for the store
  • Fill the square and skip drop shadows; the icon is shown on many different backgrounds.
  • Keep a little padding (about 8%) around the artwork.
  • Make it read at 20 px: it appears that small on cards.

#Mark

A single-colour glyph for places where a full-colour icon would clash: the dock and sidebar. Chataway renders it as a CSS mask filled with the active theme's text colour, so it looks native in every palette, light or dark.

FormatSVG
ColoursOne. Only the shape (alpha) is used — fill colours are ignored.
BackgroundTransparent
File size≤ 1 MB (a mark should be a few KB)
ContentPaths only — no <script>, event handlers, javascript: links or <foreignObject>
RequiredNo. Without one, Chataway uses your icon, desaturated.
Carbon · dark Carbon · light Another palette
One mark, tinted by the theme. Only its shape matters.

Design it like a monochrome app icon: bold shapes, no hairlines, no text. Use fill-rule="evenodd" or separate subpaths for holes. Test it at 16 and 24 px.

#Accent

One colour, #RRGGBB, used for the header stripe of your panel and the edge of your cards. It's contrast-checked against Chataway's palettes — an accent that disappears against a theme's background is flagged in review, so avoid near-black and near-white.

Pick your brand's primary colour. Don't pick Chataway's orange or another listed app's colour to look official.

#Screenshots

CountUp to 8
FormatPNG, JPG or WebP
File size≤ 3 MB each
Recommended size2560×1600 (16:10), or 1280×800 at minimum

Show your app inside Chataway: your panel in the dock, a card in a chat, the result of a tool call. The first screenshot is the one most people see — make it the moment your app is most useful. Real content only: no mock-ups of features you haven't built.

#Names

  • name is ≤ 40 characters and is what users see everywhere. Use your product's name, optionally with a short qualifier (Acme Assets).
  • The name may not contain Chataway, Otto or claw-dev, and may not imitate another listed app. "Acme for Chataway" is fine in your marketing, not as the app name.
  • id is permanent and reverse-DNS under a domain you own (com.acme.assets).

#Checks

The validator enforces the hard rules (types, paths, sizes, square icon, no scripts in the mark). Reviewers check the rest — see Review guidelines. The relevant codes start with branding.; see the validation codes.
